Veterans Benefits
Veterans must be honorably discharged from the military and provide a copy of their DD214.
Honorably Discharged Veteran is Eligible for:
- Flag Presentation
- Playing of “Taps”
- Military Honors
- Presidential Memorial Certificate
- Burial at a State or National Cemetery
Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Includes:
- Gravesite for veteran, spouse, & eligible dependent children
- Opening and closing of the grave
- Perpetual care
- Marker for the veteran, spouse, and eligible dependent children
- Memorial rifle squad for veteran only
- Government Graveliner or approximately $200 towards the purchase of a sealing vault
Burial at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Includes:
- Gravesite for veteran, spouse, & eligible dependent children
- Opening and closing of the grave
- Perpetual care
- Marker for the veteran, spouse, and eligible dependent children
- Memorial rifle squad for veteran only
- Pre-placed Government Graveliner
- There is no cost to the veteran; however, there may be applicable fees for spouse and dependent children.
The funeral home will apply for any benefits on behalf of the veteran and their family. Always check with your local Veteran’s Affairs office for individual benefits.
